True advancement lies not just in personal gains but in the lifting up of each other, as in the long run, it’s this show of compassion that makes a difference. Young adults leave Sedbergh with a strong intellect, and a firm appreciation of the value of service and the importance and satisfaction of giving back.

Kindness is our fundamental value, essential for fostering a Prep School culture of empathy, respect, and understanding. It is through the acts of kindness that children learn to form meaningful connections, support one another and ultimately build a community where everyone feels valued, respected and included.
Promoting kindness from an early age encourages empathy, helps children to recognise and respond to the needs of others and enhances peer relationships. This lays the foundation for positive social interactions that extend throughout the School, creating a safe and supportive place conducive to learning and personal growth.
