What is a Sedbergh Scholarship?
Sedbergh School seeks to welcome talented pupils to the school. The scholarship programme is designed to identify and reward excellence and to celebrate exceptional talent:
- Providing talent-specific tutoring and coaching – in addition to extra-curricular societies where scholars are encouraged to display their knowledge
- Providing opportunities for the talent to be visible to others – including academic competitions, music and drama events, sporting fixtures and inter-county competition
- Supporting opportunities for competition at regional or national levels
- Ensuring parents are kept apprised of progress and development.
Scholarship assessments are held in Academics, Art, Design & Technology, Drama, Music and Sport (main sports assessed are rugby, hockey, cricket, netball, and athletics; other sports assessed are equestrian, target shooting, swimming and Cross Country).
Scholarship Awards are offered for entry to Year 9, Year 10 and to Sixth Form. Scholarships are also available at Year 7 in our Prep School and more information can be found here.
