During our Open Week, visitors are invited to come along and view the Prep School in action! All year groups, from Reception through to Year 8, are in School which offers a unique opportunity for visitors to discover how we bring out the best in every child. Watch Pre-Prep get to grips with maths in the outdoors, guide a plane into land on the flight simulator, watch specialist coaches guide our sports scholars – experience a ‘normal’ day at school.
Guests can register to attend on any day during this week and will have the opportunity to meet our Head, plus members of our academic and boarding team. Our Year 8 pupil guides will aim to show you how we instil a sense of adventure in our pupils, both in and outside the classroom. Learn more about 11+ scholarships.

Throughout the year, we open our doors to prospective pupils, offering them a glimpse into the enriching environment that makes us the number one ‘full boarding’ school in the North of England. Boarding Tasters last 24 or 48 hours.
During our Boarding Tasters, pupils dive into the heart of Sedbergh’s community, immersing themselves in school lessons, boarding activities, and our unique in-house dining experience. Depending upon the day chosen, pupils will engage in a variety of lessons, while also enjoying the camaraderie of our boarding community.
Evenings and weekends can include a diverse range of activities and social events, ensuring that every moment at Sedbergh is filled with opportunities for growth, friendship, and fun.
